Nothing is more exciting to Audrey Bodek than seeing the final set onstage for the first time, knowing how much work the entire production team contributed to make it happen.
Audrey Bodek is a freelance scenic designer for Theater who currently resides in the Washington, D.C. area. She graduated in May 2015 from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Scenic Design. She has designed two University productions and a window display in partnership with the Associated Artists of Winston Salem for the Bookmarks Festival. She was previously a Design Intern at David Korins Design in New York. Audrey’s design assistant work includes plays, musicals, and opera.
Audrey was always artsy as a child, participating in mentoring programs at local theaters and art classes in high school. Over the years, she has found that her comprehensive research and intricate model building allows her to produce high quality and awe-inspiring set designs tailored to the needs of a variety of productions.
Audrey provides production directors and team detailed visual representations of her set design through sketch models.
Once Audrey develops a concept for your production’s set design, she will provide the production team with a detailed model within specified deadlines. While in this stage of the process, Audrey invites collaboration from the production team so the final set design is tailored specifically to the needs of the production. She takes the time to ensure the director and production team accurately understand how the design will work in the theatre space.
When she’s not creating new worlds on the stage, you can probably find Audrey at a local Washington, D.C. museum or park, or exploring the area!
